Lo nuevo de Buffett
Berkshire Hathaway, el conglomerado que tiene como presidente y consejero delegado al Señor Warren Buffett, ha presentado hace poco las cuentas del primer cuatrimestre que incluyen, entre otras cosas, las nuevas inversiones de la compañía.
Como dijo en la reunión de accionistas de este año (y como dice siempre), le gusta invertir en negocios sólidos sobre los que es posible intuir como estarán dentro de unos años, i.e. evitando las sorpresas. Pero aunque esto es esencial, no es suficiente. También necesita que coticen a un precio bastante inferior a su valor intrínseco, lo que el llama “un margen de seguridad”.
Puesto que estos gustos son compartidos por una buena parte de la comunidad financiera, aquí van sus nuevas adquisiciones:
Burlingtn N Santa Fe (BNI)
Norfolk So Cp (NSC)
Union Pacific (UNP)
Tesco Plc (TSCO.L)
Posco (PKX)
Wellpoint Inc. (WLP)
Las tres primeras son empresas ferroviarias. Buffet dijo sobre ellas que no serán nunca un negocio fantástico, pero cree que su posición competitiva es buena. Si se refiere a que nadie se va a poner a construir más vías, eso ya lo teníamos todos claro.
Tesco es una archiconocida cadena de supermercados en Inglaterra, y creo con bastante presencia internacional, pues hace poco estuve de viaje por Praga y me sorprendí al ver que “los Tescos” habían invadido el país. Posco es un productor de acero koreano (ahí ni corto ni pincho), y Wellpoint es una aseguradora –ese tipo de empresa que primero cobra y luego “si eso” ya paga-.
Además de eso, ha aumentado posición en:
Wells Fargo (WFC)
Johnson & Johnson (JNJ)
Iron Mountain (IRM)
Sanofi-Aventis (SNY)
Y ha reducido notablemente en:
Anheuser-Busch (BUD)
Ameriprise Financial (AMP)
Western Union (WU)
H&R Block (HRB)
Porque Buffett compre o deje de comprar acciones de una determinada empresa no significa ni que esté a buen precio ni que sea una buena idea hacer lo mismo. Pero por otro lado, siempre viene bien saber por donde van los tiros, y si hace falta, escoger lo que nos parezca mejor entre los valores seleccionados por uno de los mejores inversores de todos los tiempos.
No sé si esas ferroviarias tienen algo que ver, pero el “governator” ha dado luz verde a un proyecto de tren de alta velocidad en California.
Quizás en otros estados se esté haciendo lo mismo o se planee hacerlo y pueda ser un nuevo futuro lucrativo negocio
Tesco ha presentado resultados hace poco y los supermercados en Asia, sobre todo Corea del Sur, están empezando a suponer más del 20% del total de ingresos de la compañía.
Pocas empresas de supermercados han conseguido asentarse en tantos mercados con tanto éxito como ellos. Y ahora van al asalto de los Estados Unidos.
Es increible lo que significa el nombre de “Warren Buffett” en el mundo de la bolsa, lo mirado y seguido que está todo lo que este hombre dice que hace… es simplemente increible.
La cantidad de libros que hay editados con su nombre, invierta como, o la cantidad de libros que lo citan. Se ha creado un modelo a seguir que estoy seguro ni él mismo soño nunca con llegar a ser, ni siquiera en este calibre.
Y es que necesitamos todos una guia… ademas, yo tambien, yo de de mayor tambien quiero ser como él.
